When his estranged father dies, Julian returns to Chicago determined to sell the family home and move on, until neighbors insist he take over his father’s legendary block party, forcing him to confront old grudges, rekindle lost love, and embrace the community he never thought he needed.

Block Party is a heartfelt, Chicago dramedy about grief, love, and community resilience. In a moment when the city is vilified and threatened on the national stage, this film offers a counternarrative: Chicago as a tapestry of neighbors, families, and traditions that bind us together. Thought one epic celebration, Block Party affirms that joy itself can be resistance and that healing begins at home, on the block.
